Westerville Alumni Association

Charitable support to the Westerville Alumni Association enhances the many scholarships and grants that provide a better atmosphere for students, teachers, and the Westerville community. Through the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends of the Westerville Alumni Association, we are able to support the district's vision of "preparing students to contribute to the competitive and changing world in which we live."

There are many ways to make a gift to the Westerville Alumni Association:

  • Planned Giving: If your goal is to give something back to the community and benefit your family as well, Planned Giving is for you. By sharing your wealth and making a substantial charitable gift, you can make a difference and be remembered for it. Through planned giving you can select an intelligent way to make a gift that will accomplish all of your objectives. Read more information here or contact David McConnell at 614-442-4509 for additional details.
  • Monetary Gifts: Gifts to the Association made by check or credit card through this site.
  • Stocks or Securities: Gifts of stocks and securities often has favorable tax consequences for donors. One can deduct the full market value of long-term appreciated securities and avoid any tax on capital gains. Securities primarily include stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
  • Property: Real or personal property may be transferred to the school district.
  • Matching Gifts: Many U.S. companies participate in a donation-matching program. Check with your HR Department to see if this is an option.
  • Unrestricted Gifts: These gifts allow the Association to cover the costs of critical services not entirely funded by other support.
  • Restricted Gifts: These gifts benefit specific programs of your choosing, such as a named scholarship fund, teaching grant, or endowment devoted to an academic or athletic program.
  • Bequests: Westerville Alumni, friends, and family may remember the Association in their will. The Association can be named as a beneficiary of retirement plans, trusts, or life insurance policies. If interested, please consult your legal adviser or financial planner.
  • Class Gifts: A class gift, often given upon graduation or during a reunion year, can allow the Association to reward a scholarship in the name of that graduating class.
  • Honor or Memorial Gift: A gift made in honor or memory of a current or past faculty or staff member can allow the Association to reward a scholarship in that individual's name.
